Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre went 0-for-3 with two ground outs and a weak pop-up against Garrett Richards in Friday night’s loss to the Angels. He broke his bat three times. Rather than take his oh-fer lying down, Beltre sent Richards an invoice for the the three broken bats, Pedro Moura of the Orange County Register reports:
Adrian Beltre sent Garrett Richards a $300 invoice for the three bats he broke yesterday. Richards loved it. He sent him back a bat.

Beltre, perhaps, could use some new lumber. He’s not off to the best start, hitting .175/.246/.333 with two home runs and five RBI in 69 plate appearances entering Saturday’s action.
