Adrian Beltre to miss at least two weeks with a sprained left thumb
Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre will miss at least two weeks with a sprained left thumb, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Beltre suffered the injury sliding into second base attempting to break up a double play on a Mitch Moreland ground ball.
Beltre hadn’t been his usual self at the plate over the first two months of the season, batting .251/.289/.404 with six home runs and 16 RBI in 218 plate appearances entering Sunday’s game. In his absence, Adam Rosales could see playing time at third base, though Wilson suggests the Rangers could call up Rougned Odor from Triple-A Round Rock.
