And That Happened: Wednesday’s scores and highlights

Bryce Harper

Sorry for the abbreviated recaps today. Some family stuff takes precedence early this morning. It happens from time to time, and I figure it’s better to get a comments thread up for y’all than to make you wait an extra hour or two for my little jokes and summaries.

Speaking of jokes, anyone who says Bryce Harper is one is crazy. Oh, I suppose people don’t really call him a joke, but they do like to say he’s overrated, which is hilarious. They do like to say his attitude doesn’t match his talent, which is side-splitting. They say that he’s not worth the trouble, whatever “trouble” it is they are referring to. All the highest of comedy.

All I know is that the dude is still only 22-years-old and after his three-dinger performance yesterday he’s hitting .265/.416/.561 and is on pace to smack more than 40 homers and drive in over 100. Again, he’s 22. Who is the list of players you’d willingly trade Harper for, straight-up? Mike Trout and . . . ?
