Answering fan questions, MLB.com’s Alden Gonzalez thinks that it’s unlikely outfielder Josh Hamilton finishes out his contract with the Angels. Gonzalez writes that the Angels have already had preliminary trade talks, but will likely let Hamilton at least start the season in Anaheim in an attempt for him to rebuild some of his value before seriously exploring a trade.

Hamilton, 33, is entering the third year of his five-year, $125 million contract. In two years with the Angels, the veteran has hit a slightly above-average .255/.316/.426 with 31 home runs and 123 RBI in 1,017 plate appearances.
