Diamondbacks reliever Matt Reynolds hasn’t pitched since June due to an elbow injury and is headed for Tommy John surgery after suffering a setback in his rest-and-rehab attempt.

Reynolds was acquired from the Rockies in November and tossed 27 innings with a 1.98 ERA and 23/5 K/BB ratio before going on the disabled list, but now he’ll likely miss all of next season and throw his next big-league pitch at age 30.
