Veteran left-hander Arthur Rhodes told the media before Game 2 of the World Series Thursday at Busch Stadium that he is hoping to continue his major league career for one more season.
This according to ESPN’s Buster Olney.
Rhodes posted an underwhelming 4.64 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in 51 regular-season appearances this year between the Rangers and Cardinals, but the 41-year-old southpaw has been nearly perfect for St. Louis in these 2011 playoffs and should remain an effective option against left-handed hitters going forward.
There’s no doubt he’ll get offers this winter, and there’s a chance the Cards will simply try to bring him back.
