Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that Hector Rondon has agreed to a deal with the Houston Astros. SB Nation’s Chris Cotillo says it’s a two-year deal.

Rondon was non-tendered by the Cubs after posting a 4.24 ERA this past season, during the second half of which he experienced some elbow problems. The five-year veteran has a 3.22 ERA in 296 career games, all with the Cubs. This past season saw him post a record-high 10.8 Ks per nine innings, though his walk rate doubled from 2016.

Some warning signs to be sure, but baseball is experiencing a land rush when it comes to relievers so far this offseason, and the Astros believe he’s worth the investment.
