The Athletics announced that outfielder Andrew Lambo has been claimed off waivers from the Pirates.
Lambo, 27, missed most of this past season due to plantar fasciitis. In 27 plate appearances, he had just one hit (a double). He has a career .530 OPS across 99 career plate appearances at the big league level.
Lambo hit well in the minors and is under team control through 2020, so the Athletics are hoping he can live up to his potential in a new uniform.
