Right-hander Chien-Ming Wang has agreed to a minor-league contract with the Braves, which includes an invitation to spring training.
Atlanta is looking for rotation depth, but it’s been a long time since Wang has been healthy and effective.
He didn’t pitch in the majors at all this season and has a 7.13 ERA in the big leagues since 2012. Wang spent this season pitching at Triple-A for the Reds and White Sox, posting a 4.12 ERA in 28 starts along with a terrible 73/57 K/BB ratio in 173 innings.
