Braves President of Baseball Operations John Hart joined Jim Bowden and Jim Duquette on MLB Network Radio’s “The Front Office” and talked about some of the decisions facing the Braves. Though he downplayed its likelihood, Hart said that the Braves signing outfielder Justin Upton to a contract extension is “not out of the realm of possibility”.

Upton, 27, is in the last year of his six-year, $51.25 million contract extension signed with the Diamondbacks in March 2010. He has been the subject of many trade rumors since the season ended and many expect him to be traded by the time spring rolls around. The Mariners and Rangers have expressed early interest.

Upton hit .270/.342/.491 with 29 home runs and 102 RBI during the 2014 season with the Braves.
