Rockies left fielder Corey Dickerson just missed three weeks because of plantar fasciitis in his left foot, landing on the disabled list May 19 and returning on June 11. But the 26-year-old couldn’t make it five games before suffering another flareup.
Nick Groke of the Denver Post reports that Dickerson has been placed back on the 15-day disabled list. And this absence will probably be longer than three weeks. “We thought we could get some mileage out of him,” Rockies manager Walt Weiss told Groke. “But it didn’t work out.”
Dickerson has posted a cool .299/.331/.512 batting line in 38 games this season when healthy. He hit .312/.364/.567 with 24 home runs and 76 RBI in 131 games last season.
