MLB.com’s Mark Bowman reports that Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson underwent surgery on his left wrist to remove a loose body. The Braves expect him to be completely ready for spring training in February.

Swanson, 24, missed the last week of the regular season and the playoffs due to a partially torn ligament in his left hand, which he apparently suffered while swinging. He finished the season batting .238/.304/.395 with 14 home runs, 59 RBI, 51 runs scored, and 10 stolen bases in 533 plate appearances.

Swanson is poised to reprise his role as the Braves’ starting shortstop in 2019.
