Adam Kennedy’s role with the Dodgers was in question following the arrival of Hanley Ramirez and now he’ll miss at least the next two weeks after being placed on the disabled list with a strained groin.
Kennedy had been splitting time at third base with Jerry Hairston Jr. and Juan Uribe, drawing 21 starts despite being 36 years old and hitting just .250 with a .672 OPS in 172 plate appearances.
It’s unclear how much of Ramirez’s time will be spent at third base compared to shortstop, but either way Kennedy won’t have much of a role to return to once healthy.
