Dodgers place Yasmani Grandal on the seven-day concussion disabled list
The Dodgers have placed catcher Yasmani Grandal on the seven-day concussion disabled list, the club announced on Twitter Saturday evening. Austin Barnes was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Grandal was hit with the backswing from Padres first baseman Yangervis Solarte on Friday. In Grandal’s absence, A.J. Ellis is expected to take most of the playing time behind the dish.
Grandal, acquired from the Padres as part of the Matt Kemp deal in December, has hit well in 124 plate appearances, posting a .291/.403/.466 triple-slash line along with four home runs and 17 RBI.
