Domingo Germán’s administrative leave extended through postseason
No surprise here: Major League Baseball announced on Wednesday that Yankees pitcher Domingo Germán has had his administrative leave extended through the end of the postseason.
Germán, 27, was placed on administrative leave last week under MLB’s domestic violence policy. He allegedly slapped his girlfriend in public, an incident which was witnessed by an official from the commissioner’s office, Bob Klapisch of The New York Times reported.
MLB will continue to investigate the matter. Whether Germán is formally charged or not, the league can still decide to levy a punishment via fines and/or a suspension which would begin at the start of the 2020 regular season.
