Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports Sunday that the 25-year-old starting pitcher has “a little bit of shoulder tendinitis” in his left arm and the Rays “are uncertain when he will pitch next.”
“Precautionary,” Rays manager Kevin Cash told reporters about the sudden shutdown. “It’s kind of on him and how he feels from this point forward.’'
