Javier Vazquez had a great 2011, throwing 193 innings with a 3.69 ERA for the Marlins. If he wanted to, he could have made a bunch of money pitching for in 2012. But he didn’t. He dropped the mic and has spent the last year enjoying life with his family in Puerto Rico. But Peter Gammons says:
Alltime good person Javy Vazquez will pitch for Ponce after Thanksgiving, Puerto Rico in WBC and see if he wants to come back

It’s all about desire, you figure, because given how he ended up, and given that Andy Pettitte took a year off and came back in pretty darn good form, you know any number of teams would take a chance on Vazquez if he were willing to pitch.
