Kelvim Escobar is attempting another comeback
Most of us scoffed when the Mets signed Kelvim Escobar to a guaranteed major league contract last winter. He was limited in the early part of spring training and eventually needed season-ending surgery in May to repair a capsule tear in the front of his right shoulder.
Now he’s attempting another comeback as a relief pitcher.
According to Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com, Escobar hopes to throw for teams in March, while his agent Peter Greenberg said that the veteran right-hander “is doing very well.”
Escobar, who turns 35 in April, has made just one major league appearance over the last three seasons due to multiple shoulder surgeries. No idea if he has anything left, but this is what minor league contracts are made for.
