Mark Buehrle may not retire after all
Pitcher Mark Buehrle was expected to retire after the season, but that may not be the case as ESPN’s Doug Padilla reports. The lefty is still undecided about continuing his career and said that if and when he does choose to retire, he’ll do so quietly.
“I snuck into this league, and I’m going to sneak out,” Buehrle said. He added that, heading into 2016, he would only be interested in signing a guaranteed contract.
Buehrle, 36, posted a 3.81 ERA with a 91/33 K/BB ratio over 198 2/3 innings for the Blue Jays during the 2015 regular season. He was not included on the Jays’ post-season roster.
