The Phillies announced on Monday that closer David Robertson has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to right elbow soreness. Pitcher Drew Anderson has been recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Robertson, 34, signed a two-year, $23 million contract with the Phillies in January. He had an abysmal start to the season, yielding runs in each of his first three appearances. He allowed four runs in total on five hits and five walks with one strikeout in two innings. Robertson appeared to figure things out, however, putting together four consecutive scoreless outings since.
Anderson, 25, has made one start in the minors thus far, serving up four runs on eight hits and two walks with two strikeouts in four innings. In the majors, he owns a career 7.80 ERA in a small sample of 15 innings.
Seranthony Domínguez figures to see the majority of save chances while Robertson is out.
