The Channel: TBS
The Starters: Colby Lewis (Rangers) vs. Aaron Sanchez (Blue Jays)

The Upshot:

After taking two games on the road, the Blue Jays will return to their home turf for a potential ALDS clinch in Game 3. At the helm is right-hander Aaron Sanchez (15-2, 3.00 ERA), who posted 3.9 fWAR and earned All-Star distinctions in his first full major league season. Sanchez labored through two starts against the Rangers back in May, allowing 14 hits and nine runs and striking out 11 over 13 2/3 innings. As far as postseason experience goes, he’s been flawless, allowing seven hits and an unearned run in 7 1/3 innings during the Blue Jays’ 2015 playoff run.

Opposite Sanchez, veteran right-hander Colby Lewis will take the hill for the Rangers in a last-ditch effort to keep their playoff hopes alive. In June, Lewis was sidelined with a strained lat muscle in his right shoulder, and returned in September to pitch to a 6.38 ERA in 18 1/3 innings as the Rangers locked down the AL West. Like Sanchez, Lewis has been fairly stable for the club in the postseason, holding a 2.38 ERA over 53 innings and three playoff runs in 2010, 2011, and 2015. This will be his first playoff appearance following a significant injury.

At the plate, recent history sides with the Blue Jays, who have amassed 15 runs since the start of the ALDS. The Rangers, on the other hand, have managed just four runs off of Toronto’s pitching staff so far and are still on the hunt for their first home run of the 2016 postseason.
