Backup outfielder news:
#Marlins have checked on Ichiro Suzuki as backup outfield option.

“Ichiro?”
[almost asleep] ". . . wha -- what is it?”
“Do you need anything? Water? An extra blankie?”
“No. My God. I’m 41-years-old. I can get that stuff if I need it. Will you just let me sleep?”
“Sorry.”
Ichiro hit a mere .284/.324/.340 in 143 games this past season for the Yankees. He really can’t be counted on to bring that much to the table. He can likely still field a corner outfield position and his wheels are pretty decent for a mid-era Gen-Xer, but it’s not at all certain that he’ll have a major league deal for 2015.
