Javier Vazquez had yet another craptacular start on Saturday, giving up five runs on seven hits in three innings while walking four. After that game Jor Girardi said that his next start -- scheduled for this Friday at Fenway -- was in question. It’s no longer in question. Girardi has bumped Vazquez off Friday’s start. He’ll go a week from today against the Tigers. Girardi’s comment after the decision: “We’re going to give him a couple days to catch his breath.”
“Or to trade him to the Mets,” GIrardi did not add.
