Wil Myers congratulates the Royals

wil myers getty
Classy gesture from Rays outfielder Wil Myers, who was once a premier Royals prospect ...

Congrats to the #Royals! Happy for everyone in that organization.

— Wil Myers (@wilmyers) October 16, 2014

Kansas City got James Shields and Wade Davis in that December 2012 seven-player blockbuster trade, and both of those pitchers have played massive roles in the Royals’ improbable run to the World Series. Shields has already started three games this postseason -- with so-so results but all victories -- and Davis is a big part of KC’s dominant relief corps. Myers, meanwhile, has batted just .258/.324/.400 in 734 plate appearances since joining Tampa Bay. He missed half of the 2014 season with a stress fracture in his right wrist.
