James Hinchcliffe tangos way to near-perfect Dancing With The Stars score
Verizon IndyCar Series driver James Hinchcliffe could very well be on his way to a championship, following in fellow driver Helio Castroneves’ footsteps.
But we’re not talking about an IndyCar championship here – at least not yet. But Hinchcliffe could very well be on his way to another kind of championship.
On Monday’s edition of “Dancing With the Stars,” the 2016 Indianapolis 500 pole-sitter and dance partner Sharna Burgess danced the tango to near-perfection in the eyes of judges Bruno Tonioli, Julianne Hough and Carrie Ann Inaba, drawing a 29 out of a perfect 30, earning perfect 10 scores from Tonioli and Inaba, and a near-perfect 9 from Hough.
Castroneves and Hough won the 2007 DWTS championship.
Hinchcliffe’s near-fatal crash while practicing for the 2015 Indy 500 was also part of an emotional video vignette aired on the show that covered his comeback from the injury.

The Mayor of Hinchtown was also part of a segment on Entertainment Tonight.
Hinchcliffe will do a tango of a different sort on Thursday, without his dance partner, when he takes part in a Firestone tire test at Gateway Motorsports Park near St. Louis.
Other drivers expected to take part in the test are Marco Andretti, Graham Rahal, Ed Carpenter and Mikhail Aleshin.
