Texas Motor Speedway will return to the Verizon IndyCar Series calendar in 2016 as expected, having announced a June 11 date as part of its overall schedule.
This will mark the track’s 20th anniversary, having debuted in IndyCar - then called the Indy Racing League - in 1997.
The three-day event returns June 9-11. The weekend features qualifying day for the Verizon IndyCar Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on Friday, June 10, that will be followed that evening by the running of the Camping World Truck Series Rattlesnake 400.
The Firestone 600, the weekend’s marquee event known as “America’s Original Nighttime IndyCar Race,” will run on Saturday, June 11.
There’s more than a dozen events that have already been announced in IndyCar, although the series is yet to reveal its full 2016 schedule.
