Bobby Labonte’s Sprint Cup car this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway features decals for the Bobby Labonte Foundation’s Archdale Drug Tour de Reason cycling event. This will mark the sixth year for the event, which will be held Aug. 27 in Thomasville, North Carolina. There will be a cocktail reception and silent auction on Aug. 26.

“The Archdale Drug Tour de Reason provides a way to connect with others who are passionate about cycling while benefitting three causes that are important to me,” said Labonte, a NASCAR on NBC analyst, in a release. “I’ve been riding for 12 years and I cannot express how welcoming and caring the cycling community is. The highlight of the weekend for me is about the camaraderie and bringing the cycling community together to raise money for these charities. Even if you aren’t a cyclist, the cocktail reception on Friday gives you the chance to be a big part of the ride.”

Last year, more than 225 riders participated in either the 63-, 35- or 12-mile courses that toured Davidson and Randolph counties.

To register for the Tour de Reason bicycle ride, visit the Bobby Labonte Foundation website or call 336-434-1800. All proceeds from the event will benefit High Point Young Life, Victory Junction and Bicycling in Greensboro.

“The overall mission of this ride is to make a lasting impact on the local community while raising awareness of cycling safety on the roads in North Carolina, and without the support of sponsors like Archdale Drug, this wouldn’t be possible,” said Labonte, the 2000 Sprint Cup champion who is driving the No. 32 car this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway. “A special thank you to Archie St. Hilaire from Go Fas Racing for providing this opportunity for my foundation to be a part of this weekend’s scheme, as well as Rimrock Devlin CEO Micah Linton, who has already committed to joining me at the Tour de Reason in August.”
