Darrell “Bubba” Wallace Jr. won’t be starring at Martinsville Speedway this weekend, but the Xfinity Series driver still will be in the spotlight.

Wallace, who is ranked fifth in points through five races of his first full season with Roush Fenway Racing, is the focus of a new series of videos produced by Xfinity to showcase the series’ rising stars.

In the video (which is above), a montage of Wallace’s career highlights is shown and juxtaposed against the accomplishments of NASCAR Hall of Famers. Wallace has five victories in the Camping World Truck Series, including two at Martinsville Speedway (where he became the first African-American to win in a NASCAR national series race in nearly 50 years on Oct. 26, 2013, joining recently inducted Hall of Famer Wendell Scott).

“First of all, it really is an honor to be mentioned with some of the biggest icons of the sport,” Wallace said. “I feel very fortunate to compete in the XFINITY Series, because there is so much talent at this level. You have a lot of us younger guys, who are really trying to prove ourselves and make a name for ourselves, combined with some of the talent that’s been in the sport for a long time, which just produces great racing. On top of that, we have a partner on board in Comcast, that has committed to the Series for the next 10 years, which should really get fans of the sport excited for the direction things are going.”

Over the next month, Xfinity will roll out more clips with drivers Ty Dillon and Chase Elliott.

“We created these videos as a part of our campaign to promote the NASCAR Xfinity Series and the quest of the young stars within the series to be the next NASCAR legend,” said Matt Lederer, senior director for sports marketing for Comcast, parent company of Xfinity. “It is important for us to promote the younger drivers, as their talent and desire is truly what makes the Xfinity Series appealing to fans. Comcast is excited and proud to support this unique series where drivers like Ty Dillon, Chase Elliott, Darrell Wallace, Jr. can make their names and compete alongside the top talent in the sport today.”
