Elliott Sadler, who is in his first season with Roush Fenway Racing, called a recent report that he would be headed to JR Motorsports next season as “50 percent true and 50 percent not true.’'

Sadler said what was true is that he has not signed with a team for next season. As for the other part, Sadler said: “The rest of it, I have no idea about. We’re still working through some things for next year.’’

Sadler enters tonight’s Xfinity race at Bristol Motor Speedway fifth in the standings, 60 points behind teammate Chris Buescher, the series leader.

Since 2012, Sadler has driven for Richard Childress Racing (2012), Joe Gibbs Racing (2013-14) and Roush Fenway Racing (2015). He has 10 career series wins and 143 top-10 finishes in 284 starts. He won four races in 2012 and one last year. He also has five poles during that time.

“I want to be a part of this sport,’' Sadler said. “I want to be competitive. I want to stay competitive and stay up front.’'

Asked if he could say he would be returning to Roush after this season, Sadler said: “There’s a lot of moving parts. There’s a lot of stuff going on right now in our sport. Just when you think something is going to happen, something else happens over in the corner. Lot of stuff going on. We’ll see.’'
