Kenseth, Buescher on front row for Xfinity race at Kansas

Matt Kenseth grabbed the pole position Saturday afternoon for the Kansas 300 Xfinity Series race at Kansas Speedway.

Kenseth covered the 1.5-mile layout at 184.906 mph. Xfinity Series points leader Chris Buescher was second fastest at 184.131 mph.

Regan Smith qualified third (183.930), followed by Kyle Busch (183.767), Ty Dillon (183.717), Daniel Suarez (183.698), Kevin Harvick (183.561), Brendan Gaughan (183.368), Austin Dillon (183.181) and Joey Logano (182.995).

Chase Elliott hit the wall, spun through the infield and damaged the rear of his car, prompting his team to go to a backup car for the first time this season.

Though Elliott qualified 12th alongside Brian Scott, he will drop to the back of the field when the green flag drops because of the backup.
