Kyle Larson, taking advantage of the off weekend in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, won the opening race in the 34th Annual Ohio Sprint Speedweek Friday night at Attica (Ohio) Raceway.

Kasey Kahne also competed, and Tony Stewart attended the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions event. Stewart acquired the series in Jan. 2015.

Larson took the lead on the fifth lap, overcame contact with a lapped car on the 28th circuit of the 40-lap race and went on to score his third career series victory. It was his first time to compete at that track. Byron Reed finished second with Chad Kemenah third. Kahne finished 20th in the feature.

Larson was fourth in qualifying with Kahne fifth. Both finished fourth in their heat race.

Ohio Sprint Speedweek continues Saturday night at Waynesfield (Ohio) Raceway Park. Upcoming races can be found here.
