Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Cargill Beef will reunite with a multi-race sponsorship starting with the Labor Day Weekend race at Darlington Raceway.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Roush Ford Racing are the latest to get into the swing of things for the return of the traditional Labor Day weekend race (Sept. 6) at Darlington Speedway.

RFR announced Thursday morning that long-time partner Cargill Beef will return to Stenhouse’s No. 17 as a primary sponsor for multiple races, beginning with the Darlington event.

Cargill is getting into the swing of Darlington’s “Throwback” initiative by featuring a special retro look on Stenhouse’s Ford. The paint scheme will be released at a later date as we get closer to the race.

“I’m thrilled to have Cargill back this season with the No. 17 team,” Stenhouse said in a media release. “They have been an outstanding partner with Roush Fenway for the past five seasons and with our team in both the XFINITY and Sprint Cup Series.

“I can’t think of a better way to welcome them back this season, than going for the trophy in one of my favorite all-time races, the Southern 500 at Darlington.”

Cargill, RFR and Stenhouse have had a partnership that dates back to 2010, when Stenhouse was a rookie in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

The company has continued to support Stenhouse during his back-to-back Xfinity Series championships in 2011 and 2012, backed Trevor Bayne’s NXS effort in 2013, and then returned to Stenhouse’s car in the Sprint Cup Series last season.

“Cargill has been an outstanding partner for the past five seasons,” team co-owner Jack Roush said. “In 2010 they took a chance on a young and unproven driver in Ricky, and they went on to play a pivotal role in his XFINITY Series Championship seasons. They made the move up to Sprint Cup last season and they continue to play a major role with the No. 17 and Ricky.”
