Cleveland forward LeBron James, who will be a free agent at the end of the season, was averaging 29.6 points, 7.8 assists and 7.2 rebounds for the Cavaliers through Jan. 20.
Kevin Garnett, East
Boston forward Kevin Garnett, who has been hurt off and on throughout the season, was averaging 15.0 points and 7.6 rebounds for the Celtics through Jan. 21.
Dwight Howard, East
Orlando center Dwight Howard was averaging 17.3 points and a league-leading 13.0 rebounds for the Magic through Jan. 21.
Allen Iverson, East
Despite playing only 19 games through Jan. 21 and averaging 14.8 points in 16 games with the 76ers, Philadelphia guard Allen Iverson was voted in by fans to start for the East All-Star team. Iverson has since backed out to tend to a family matter and reserves Joe Johnson will start in his place.
Steve Nash, West
Phoenix guard Steve Nash, a two-time league MVP, was averaging 19.6 points and a league-leading 11.3 assists for the Suns through Jan. 21.
Kobe Bryant, West
Los Angeles guard Kobe Bryant, who led the Lakers to the 2009 NBA title, was averaging 28.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists through Jan. 20. Bryant will not play because of injury and reserve Dirk Nowitzki will start in his place.
Carmelo Anthony, West
Denver forward Carmelo Anthony was averaging a league-leading 29.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists for the Nuggets through Jan. 20.
Tim Duncan, West
San Antonio forward Tim Duncan was averaging 19.8 points and 10.7 rebounds for the Spurs through Jan. 21.
Amare Stoudemire, West
Phoenix center Amare Stoudemire was averaging 21.0 points and 8.7 rebounds for the Suns through Jan. 21.
