He’s listed as questionable for tonight’s preseason opener.

Coach Mike Montgomery went with a smaller lineup when Emeka Okafor got hurt. However, the fact that Cliff Robinson got the start and Dale Davis played a lot of minutes doesn’t bode well for Foyle owners.

Foyle, who had arthroscopic surgery on the knee in late June, participated in a double session Friday but hasn’t practiced since. His absence will result in more playing time for Cliff Robinson.

Foyle has been working out with the Warriors. Although the knee still gives him trouble, he’ll probably be available for the first preseason game.

Foyle had surgery on his left knee in June and had been slow to recover.

Foyle, who backs up Erick Dampier, said he’d be able to give the Warriors ''about five or so minutes a half,’' in Wednesday’s opener.

Foyle had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee on Nov. 6. He’ll begin on-court workouts once he feels strong enough. His injury has been a blessing in disguise for the Warriors, who have learned Erick Dampier can lead the league in rebounding when he gets enough minutes.

Foyle then would like to come off the IL sometime in mid-Jan.

Foyle, who underwent a second surgery on his left knee last month, intends to start running next week.

Brevin Knight and Wesley Person are among the players the Grizzlies are willing to part with. Both have contracts that expire after the season, giving them some trade value.
