Fortson’s deal could be a bellwether for the status of Kyle Lowry -- if he isn’t re-signed after 10 days, Lowry could return sooner than later. Fortson should be in the rotation, considering Derek Fisher is seeking a buyout, but he shouldn’t be owned in fantasy leagues.

It’s a no-brainer with Kyle Lowry’s season in jeopardy and Goran Dragic dealing with a sprained ankle. Fortson is actually signed through next season as well, but that year is non-guaranteed.

With Earl Boykins signed to another 10-day and Goran Dragic healthy, there’s no room for Fortson to get minutes on the Rockets right now.

Los Angeles also parted ways with Courtney Fortson and the roster stands at 13 players.

Fortson was called up from the D-League in the wake of Chris Paul’s injury, but with CP3 day-to-day his time in the NBA may be very brief.

By releasing Fortson, the Clippers think Chris Paul is showing no ill-effects from his recent hamstring injury and that Eric Bledsoe is just about ready to be called up from the NBADL to take over third-string PG duties behind second-stringer Mo Williams.

He was very active and saw plenty of run in garbage time, as the Jazz were dominant tonight. He’s not worth owning in fantasy leagues, but can be put on watch lists in deeper ones.

Fortson gives Houston some added depth at PG, but he shouldn’t be on fantasy owners’ radars.

The move was expected, and according to Alex Kennedy of Hoopsworld, Fortson will now join the Clippers training camp roster.

Houston is also expected to bring Demetri McCamey and Kyle Fogg into camp, though neither guy has any chance to make the regular season roster.
