Earl Watson was only able to log six minutes last night before succumbing to the effects of the flu.
Watson wasn’t feeling well before the game, but tried to suit up and go.

Earl Watson didn’t play tonight because coach Hubie Brown has decided to go with a three-guard rotation for now.
It may only be a short-term move, but the values of Jason Williams, Mike Miller and Bonzi Wells all increase with Watson out of the picture. Miller will act as Williams’ backup at point guard, opening up more time at shooting guard for Wells.

Earl Watson and Stromile Swift were on the floor 23 of a possible 24 fourth-quarter minutes in last night’s comeback victory.
Swift collected two of his four blocks and three of his four rebounds down the stretch. Watson wasn’t especially effective, notching 11 points, two assists, one steal, four turnovers, and five fouls, but coach Mike Fratello used him over Jason Williams.

The Cavaliers are bringing free agent point guard Earl Watson in for a workout.
It’s about time. Watson may be the best defensive guard in the league, is quick and has proven he can run an offense. He also has a very good assist-to-turnover ratio and would make a nice starting point guard for the Cavaliers. His biggest downfall is his poor FG%.

Earl Watson (ankle) is out for Thursday’s game against the Wolves.
Watson lasted just eight minutes on Wednesday night before going down. But before Devin Harris owners get excited, note that third-stringer Jamaal Tinsley came on for 23 minutes. Harris played just 16.

Devin Harris (ankle) reported improvement but remains a game-time decision for Friday’s game against the Warriors.
“I’m doing OK,” he said. “I’m going to test it today and see what happens...But I feel better than yesterday.” Harris noted that his lateral movement is impacted by the injury, so owners will have to wait for another update to see if Harris will be able to play.

Updating a previous item, Devin Harris (ankle) will play on Friday against the Warriors.
Harris will return from a one-game absence. After a woeful start to the year, Harris has improved since the All-Star break with averages of 11.7 points, 5.5 assists, 1.1 treys and 1.0 steals in 28 minutes per game. Earl Watson will head back to the bench.

Blake Ahearn is expected to be signed for the remainder of the season.
The D-League product was given a 10-day contract by Utah, and the Jazz will keep him around the rest of the year with Earl Watson (knee) sidelined.

Devin Harris (flu) is expected to start in Monday’s game against the Pistons.
Harris’ stomach virus will only cost him one game. He should be fine for his usual 23-28 minutes Monday depending on game flow.

Earl Watson (ankle) is a game-time decision for Tuesday’s game against the Thunder.
Watson was held out of Sunday’s game as a precaution and has missed three straight with the injury. If he can’t give it a go, Jamaal Tinsley will once again serve as Devin Harris’ backup.
