Anderson Varejao missed the Cavaliers’ win over the Pacers with a rib contusion.

Tristan Thompson stepped in and played well, posting 13 points and 11 rebounds in Cleveland’s third straight win.

But Varejao won the starting job for a reason, and the Cavaliers are better when he’s healthy.

Chris Fedor of Northeast Ohio Media Group:

After missing one game with a rib contusion, Anderson Varejao will return to the Cleveland Cavaliers’ starting lineup on Tuesday against the Milwaukee Bucks.

With LeBron James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving, the Cavaliers are obviously championship contenders. However, they’ve spent most of this season looking out of sorts.

That’s why Varejao’s quick return is so important.

In the lowly Eastern Conference, the Cavaliers could probably afford to sit Varejao for a while and still get a prime playoff seed. But they need to develop better chemistry, and that’s more difficult with Varejao sidelined.
