Blake Griffin has been out since December 26 with a quad injury, followed by a broken hand — the latter injury suffered in a fight with a Clippers equipment manager. The Clippers have managed to stay afloat without him, and Griffin could be back soon. Head coach Doc Rivers said he would practice today and could be activated for Sunday’s game against the Nuggets.

Once he’s activated, Griffin will begin serving a four-game suspension for the altercation in which he suffered the broken hand. So if he is activated Sunday, the earliest he will actually be able to play in a game for the Clippers will be next Sunday, when they host the Wizards at Staples Center.
