Caron Butler gets emotional during introductory press conference with the Bucks (VIDEO)
Caron Butler found himself experiencing a rare set of circumstances this summer, but he seems happy with the end result.
Butler was traded from the contending Clippers to the rebuilding Suns, as part of the deal that sent Eric Bledsoe to Phoenix. The Suns seemed satisfied with the addition of Butler at the time, but less than two months later, he was sent to Milwaukee in exchange for young assets and increased flexibility under the league’s salary cap.
While the Suns were the aggressors in the deal with the Clippers, it was the Bucks who pursued the acquisition of Butler. The 11-year veteran and two-time All-Star is from Racine, Wisconsin, so returning to his hometown had him understandably a little emotional during his introductory press conference, which was held at Racine Park High School.
“I’m a little emotional definitely,” Butler said. “Y’all see me crying at press conferences and at other things all the time – draft night – but it’s a different emotion now because this is a dream come true. This is something that I always dreamed about, thought about. I never thought it would happen. So it’s special. Thank you.”
