Cavaliers’ losing streak against Warriors becoming historic on Finals stage

Jon Barry joins the show and says that winning a title by himself is too heavy of a load for LeBron James to bear.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have lost seven straight to the Golden Warriors entering their match up in Game 3 of the NBA Finals tomorrow.

It could be worse.

The Minneapolis Lakers lost 21 straight to the Boston Celtics entering Game 4 of the 1959 Finals

Boston completed the sweep, so this isn’t exactly reassuring.

The Cavs have two major problems against the Warriors:

1. Golden State is better.

2. Golden State plays a style that gives Cleveland trouble.

Put those two together, and this is a nightmare series for the Cavaliers.

Cleveland’s seven straight losses – counting regular-season and playoff games – to the Warriors is the longest losing streak to an opponent entering a Finals game in five years and tied for the fifth-longest ever. The Miami Heat lost 10 straight to the Dallas Mavericks entering Game 1 of the 2011 Finals.

Here are the longest losing streaks to an opponent entering a Finals game:
