DeMar DeRozan on Raptors president Masai Ujiri: ‘I have no reason to talk to him. At all’

Bitter about being traded to the Spurs for Kawhi Leonard, DeMar DeRozan said Masai Ujiri lied to him and declared his relationship with the Raptors president was finished.

Apparently, tonight’s Toronto-San Antonio game won’t be a chance for reconciliation.

Michael Grange of Sportsnet:

Has he connected with Raptors president Masai Ujiri since the deal?

“I have no reason to talk to him,” DeRozan said. “At all.”

Many people are taking their cues from DeRozan. Kyle Lowry, Dwane Casey and Blake Griffin have all
shown animosity toward Ujiri. Ujiri has become a villain to some while building one of the top teams in the NBA.

I still suspect this will eventually subside. Ujiri and DeRozan accomplished so much together. Eventually, they’ll probably look back fondly on those years.

But the wounds are apparently too fresh for DeRozan, who said before the season he plans to go for 50 when the Spurs play the Raptors.
