Dwyane Wade says he considered Cavaliers in free agency
LeBron James recruiting Dwyane Wade to the Cavaliers? Shot down.
Cleveland trying to sign Wade? Shot down.
Though it never went anywhere, Wade – who ultimately signed with the Bulls – had the same idea you did when it became clear he was disgruntled with the Heat last summer.
Wade, via Leo Sepkowitz of Slam:
Wade seems happy in his native Chicago, and the security in legacy that comes with three titles probably factors. So does the money, as the Bulls offered more than the Cavs ever could have.
And Wade is right. He didn’t fit with Cleveland, which needs a shooting guard who excels on 3-pointers (like J.R. Smith). Then, again, that’s also what Chicago needs between Rajon Rondo and Jimmy Butler.
