Eddie House knows revenge is a dish best served with Heat

Eddie House liked being a part of the Boston Celtics. He was the gunner off the bench, a key part of a team that won a ring in 2008.

And last season they shipped him out to New York, a basketball wasteland at the time, for Nate Robinson. House admitted to the Arizona Republic he did not enjoy the move.

“That stung a little bit,” House said. “When you feel like you’re a main part of what the team is doing and you’re on a mission, to get the rug pulled out from under you and get sent to a team that has no shot . . . that kind of hurt.”

So now he’s with a bigger Big 3 in Miami, and he’s got his sights set on Boston.

“I compare it to the year I went to Boston when the Big 3 got together in 2007,” House said. “But this is going to be even bigger. This is going to be Boston on steroids.”

But can the Heat beat the steroid-free Celtics? Or Orlando in a seven game series? We are a long way away from finding out, but you can bet that Doc Rivers is right about one thing -- how good the new Big 3 are will depend on their defense. Boston and its trio committed to defense first, that’s what got them a ring. We’ll see if the Heat three are willing to make that same commitment.
