James Harden is a superstar. And it’s not just the beard. When he was traded from being the Thunder’s super-sub there was no question he was good, but there was a question about whether he could be a No. 1, franchise cornerstone guy.

Yes, yes he is. Ask the Spurs. He had 18 of his 29 points in the second half and hit this game winner with 4.5 seconds on the clock. He does a good job creating space from Kawhi Leonard (who chased him over the pick with no help), then got to the free throw line, tried to sell the foul with some body english, then just drained the shot anyway.

Big time shot. Big time player. There’s reason for real optimism in Houston right now.
