Enes Kanter has attempted just three 3-pointers in his three-year NBA career (making one).
That’s not really surprising.
The 6-foot-11, 247-pound center is a plodding big man whose game is based in the paint.

Kanter, via Jody Genessy of the Deseret News:
“Coach Q came to visit me and we went to a gym. He said, ‘You know you’re going to shoot some threes this year, right?’ ” Kanter said, smiling. “I was just like shocked that the first time he met me he gave me that confidence. It means a lot to me.”
In the article, Jazz coach Quin Snyder stressed the benefits of spacing, and there’s no doubt Kanter pulling a defender to the 3-point arc would benefit Utah’s offense. Centers who shoot 3-pointers help teams immensely.
Genessy laid out in depth the basis of Kanter expanding his game to include 3s until his last line:
Kanter badly missed his first 3-point attempt in Friday’s rematch with Portland.
