John Wall lit up the Sixers for 15 first quarter points on 6-of-6 shooting in just eight minutes on Friday, but cooled off considerably thereafter.

Wall was just 4-of-13 the rest of the night, and an injury he’s never experienced before appears to be the reason why.

From J. Michael of CSN Washington:

John Wall, who led his team with 26 points on 10-for-19 shooting, six assists and three steals in a 109-102 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, could barely stand because of his lower back.

Spasms started in the third quarter and he was in excruciating pain in the locker room.

“Yes,” Wall responded when asked if it’s the first time he has had this back issue. “And it hurts badly right now.”

Things didn’t improve much on Saturday, when Wall was held out of practice due to the issue.

As John Wall left the arena, I asked if he was feeling any better. “Hell no!” He then reached for his back & grimaced. So, uh, yeah #wizards
