Kings’ Jason Thompson can be yours, if you want him
Interesting note out of ESPN’s Mark Stein this morning:
There was a time, it seems like just a year ago (because it was), that Thompson was going to be the future of the Kings frontline, along side Spencer Hawes. Apparently, not so much. If the Kings are shopping Thompson for a backup point guard — and for all his promise that is all Teague has proven to be so far — then his days are numbered in Sacramento.
Which isn’t a shock, really. In an ideal world, DeMarcus Cousins is a four along side a defensive, shot-blocking center. Right now, Carl Landry and Darnell Jackson are getting a lot of time at the four. Thompson, the former No. 12 overall pick, has some talent but not as much as the guys the Kings already have at the spot.
Smart money says Thompson gets moved before the deadline, maybe long before the deadline.
