LeBron James chases down Kemba Walker, swats his shot into the stands (VIDEO)

In a normal game where the outcome is uncertain and every possession matters, blocking an opponent’s shot so hard that it goes flying a couple rows back into the stands isn’t the most intelligent basketball play.

But it sure is fun to watch.

LeBron James caught Kemba Walker on the fast break and came through with the chase-down rejection in Miami’s win in Charlotte on Saturday, but the fundamentally correct play in that situation is to try to keep the ball in play by tapping it to a teammate to create a live-ball turnover if at all possible.

Considering, however, that the Heat were probably not losing to this Bobcats team (even without the suspended Mario Chalmers), the intimidation factor combined with the entertainment value made LeBron’s choice here the wise decision.
