Mike Brown to be interviewed by the Nets
Mike Brown has coached a team to the best record in the East two consecutive years.
Critics can point to the playoff flameouts, the simplistic offenses, the heavy reliance on LeBron James. (That last one makes no sense -- if you have LeBron James you better use him a lot. Who should shoot more on that team? You’re going to take shots away from LeBron so Antawn Jamison can have more? Really?)
But there are a lot of teams that would like the success Mike Brown has had.
The Nets are the first to step up. According to the Newark Star-Ledger, Brown will get an interview with Rod Thorn next week.
Also getting interviews are Tom Thibodeau and Avery Johnson. Thorn is not expected to rush this decision. But with a good young core of players, a new owner with very deep pockets, and plans to move to Brooklyn, this is a good job to have. Quality coaches will recognize this and come to them.
