NBA honors Kobe Bryant with video tribute before his final All-Star Game (VIDEO)
TORONTO — All along, the 2016 All-Star Game was always going to be all about Kobe Bryant. He attracted the biggest scrums in all of the weekend’s media sessions and led all players in fan votes in his 18th and final appearance. And the NBA pulled out all the stops during the pregame intros on Sunday night at the Air Canada Centre.
With Drake onstage, Bryant was introduced last out of all the starters, and the music switched from “Hotline Bling” to “Trophies.” Bryant was also honored with an extensive video tribute that included not only highlights from his 20-year career but testimonials from the other participants in the All-Star Game. Magic Johnson gave a speech before Bryant addressed the crowd.
Overall, it was an extremely well-done tribute to one of the greatest and most important figures in the history of the sport and did full justice to his impact.
